Founded in 1997 by Angela Mattos, classes began in a one room dance studio on Broad Street in Bethlehem with a handful of former students. A growing and in demand school, our program quickly grew. In September 2004 you can find us at our new location on Main Street in Hellertown. This warm and inviting building has great visibility, central air conditioning and lots of windows! It is surrounded by many family oriented businesses on Main Street and a large residential area around it. Not to mention its great location next to Rt 78 on the border of Bethlehem / Hellertown.

     Our classes can offer your child a fun and exciting atmosphere with which to learn and grow. Taking a class at En Avant can help teach many important skills that carry over into other aspects of a child's life, such as confidence, creativity, expression, self-discipline, how to interact with others and just plain having fun! Our philosophy is not only to teach movements and the disciplines that dance has to offer but also for the child to be comfortable with their own self image and to express their creativity in a nurturing environment.

     A certified dance instructor and a member of Dance Educators of America, Professional Dance Teachers Association, Pan American Teachers of Dance, American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Attended the 2002 Teacher Training program at the University of Buffalo, NY, and certified member of Dance Masters of America. Former judge for New York City Dance Festival and Movement Beyond Comparison Competition, Angela is listed in the international Millennium edition of Who's Who in Dance Instruction and Choreography. Formerly on staff for the Lehigh University dance club for Ballet, she has taught and choreographed for many dance schools and organizations throughout the Lehigh Valley, Pocono, and New Jersey area.
